Refugees boat sank near Greece
A refugee boat sank in the Aegean Sea near the island of Karpathos near Greece late Wednesday. About 80 people were on board the boat. In this 29 people have been rescued. The rest are missing. The Coastal Guards of Greece reached the spot. After this relief and rescue work could be started.
The rescued migrants said they were on their way to seek refuge from Antalya, Turkey. The boat was sunk in the early morning due to strong winds. Most of the refugees are Afghan, Iranian and Iraqi citizens. who wanted to move to Italy.

A Coast Guard official said two Coast Guard patrol boats, a Greek Navy ship, an Air Force helicopter and three ships sailing nearby were involved in the rescue. Greek officials have increased patrols in the Aegean Sea. Many people are leaving the Greek islands and going here and there to seek refuge. They are taking dangerous routes to go straight to Italy, which is illegal.
